I store DVDs two ways. I have a bookshelf where I keep all of the cases, and the actual discs I keep in two large CD cases, so that I can transport them easily. On my shelves, the discs are organized in a way that is designed to be visually attractive. They are organized by studio, that way all the discs that have similar spines are next to each other. From there, I just arrange them in whatever colors work well together. My "Pi" is located directly to the left of "Requiem for a Dream" on my shelf.
In my CD case, I organize all of the discs alphabetically by director, and then chronologically, so "Pi" falls under A for Aronofsky, and is right before "Requiem" becuase it was released earlier.
Hope I have been of help! ^_^
Thanx,
Brook
