With all due respect, what in the name of hell do you keep harping on about? What does an anamorphically encoded DVD have to do with a film print matted for 1.85:1??? Any aspect ratio can be made anamorphic on DVD! Or do you refer to the fact that the film does not appear to be shown as filmed anamorphically? If that's the case, it's because, contrary to most of Lynch's canon, TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME was not filmed with an anamorphic (i.e. 2.35:1) lens...
In short, an anamorphic, 1:85:1-matted widescreen transfer is what was required out of this disc, and that's exactly what we got. Oh, and to your comment that the theatrical trailer could have been cleaned up--what in the sweet f*ck are you smoking (again, with all due respect)????????????????????????????? That is one of the cleanest, most meticulously transfered trailers I've ever seen on DVD, and it's especially pleasant, considering the movie is a decade old...
