What are you trying to make me do--laugh so hard I cough up Coca-Cola through my nose?! Jesus wept...may you never get your hands on a film camera...

Not that you'll ever get to even make a film, but I would be a much better director then you. The fact that you can not enjoy Rushmore, even for a moment shows that you lack any type of minute obversation skills, and that you can only appreciate films that ram their meanings down your throat.
Stu> I have to agree with you about Rushmores use of detail; everytime I watch it I find I pick up either something in the background or another line of dialouge that I some how pushed into my subconscious. Although I disagree that the Royal Tenenbaums was trying to be weird, or that it isn't equally appealing as Rushmore, I would agree that at some points it may seem a little more forced then Rushmore, only because Rushmore is original incomparison. Once you get past that point, it is almost like making a sequel, albiet with different characters. Both films complement each other prefectly.
