there is no swimming or bleeding of color. if you read my post again, this is what i said:
"the new "the shining" release: in the scene where grady talks to jack in the red bathroom, there is a lot of vibrating."
watch the edge of the screen in relation to the mirror edges, and you will see what i am talking about. the picture jerks back and forth slightly and rapidly. my guess is that since red takes up more data than other colors somehow the dvd authors didn't compensate for the extra bits needed to reproduce that scene on dvd.

fyi, my dvdp is a panasonic rv80, and my tv is a sony wega. connections are via component. everything has been calibrated through the service menu and a video essentials disc, including corrections for overscan, 16:9 oversqueeze, red push, and geometry.
