If the DVD file review is accurate, then it kind of what I feared. Because the effects couldn't be re-rendered for 16x9, the conversion process degraded the quality noticeably.

I know that B5 was originally shot with 16x9 in mind, but because of the limitations of the CGI effects, I think they should have released the DVD's in the OAR of the series, that being 4x3.
