Any Experience

I bought this Yamaha Reciever on a whim today because I got a good deal. I havnt opened it up yet due to the fact I had to come straight to work. I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions or experience with this paticular reciever. I know it only has 5.1 but all I have had til this point was Dolby Pro Logic. Right now I also have some pretty worthless speakers and no Subwoofer, though I am getting a Sony 50 watt subwoofer in about a week. If anybody can let me know anything about this paticular reciever I would appreciate it.

Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Matrix 6.1, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS and DTS-ES Matrix 6.1 surround sound processing give you an amazingly wide range of multichannel sound options

Silent Cinema mode feeds a simulated surround sound signal to your favorite headphones, so you can enjoy all of the audio excitement of surround sound without disturbing anyone else

Dolby Pro Logic II takes stereo signals (like CDs or VHS tapes) and generates a full-bandwidth 5.1-channel presentation from it

5 A/V inputs (4 with S-video) plus 2 component video inputs and 3 optical digital and 1 coaxial digital audio input (1 component video, A/V and digital audio output) allow you to route all of your components through your receiver for convenience

5.1-channel analog inputs for connection to ultra-high-fidelity SACD and DVD-Audio players

Auto priority input selection and auto decoder selection automatically select the best input feed (digital over analog, etc.) and processing mode (multichannel over stereo, etc.) to make sure you get the best sound possible from your components

Low-impedance drive capability and impedance switching lets this receiver handle a wide variety of speakers and load impedances (including 2, 4 and 8 ohms)

Digital AM/FM tuner with 40 presets

Heavy-duty binding posts accept a variety of speaker-cable connectors (including banana plugs, spade connectors and a variety of speaker wire, including heavy-gauge cable)
