I don't have much of a home theater, nor do I have many people stop by to show off DVD too. But once when my bus driver stopped by to babysit per Dad's request, I popped in Monsters, Inc. Mot only did she love the film and see how great it looked on DVD, but I was also able to show her that fullscreen cropped image out and that she should always demand widescreen. (Sure, they reformatted the whole film for the 1.33 ratio, but the point was made that wider is better.) We also dove into the extras and both had a lot of fun with it.
Not too long after, she upgraded to DVD, and Monsters, Inc. was her first software purchase,
That said, I set aside a few discs as my refrence discs in case I ever do get the chance to show off. They are:
- The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Theatrical Cut)
- Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
- Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
- Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
- Monsters, Inc.
- Beauty and the Beast
- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
