What's wrong with trying to read deeper into a movie? Not all movies are mindless. It is a good think to exercise that thing between your ears from time-to-time. I personally felt that it looked as is she (M) was upset that he (Bond) had killed her (Elektra), so I was asking for other peoples opinions. If you don't feel she was her daughter, that's your opinion. You may be totally right, or you may be totally wrong.
