That's a bummer. A coworker of mine sent a broken Sony DVD player back to them (while under warranty) and instead of fixing the machine, they just sent her a new one. I believe that all it cost her was the price to box it up and ship the broken unit to them.

The Pioneer won't let you down. I've had a DV-440 for a year now and it's played everything I've put in it without a glitch.
