Jdubya300,
(You sure someone just doesn't keep on sitting on the remote?

)
In this case I really don't think it's the power supply. In my experience a power supply works fun until failure, and once it fails, it's dead for good. I've never had/seen/heard of a switching on and off dying power supply.
Before I suspected the power supply I would check all the cords.
Sounds as if something isn't pugged in all the way or the prongs might not be bent properly get get a good snug fit.
Recheck all the cords, make sure they are pushed in all the way and snug. Also check to make sure a piece of furniture or something isn't putting tension on the cord so it causes it to pull the plug and interrupt the power flow when someone sits down or opens a cabinet door, etc.
Next check how everything is plugged in. Do you have one plug overloaded? That might be causing too much current draw and an electronic item might have an overheat shut-off feature. Make sure all your cords loads are balanced and distributed evenly amongst plugs and power strips.
Lastly, has somemthing been placed on top of the DVD player or is it in a place where it is not properly ventilated? If so, just re-arranging the components so they get better airflow can remedy some overheating problems.
So check all that out and let us kno how it goes.
