The version currently available is a longer version than was seen in theaters. I'm not sure what the run time on it is, though. I think it's about 3 1/2 hours. I'm not a fan of the longer cut. I think it actually makes the film worse, especially the talk show bit. I much prefer the original theatrical version.
Sometimes, more is not better. I think JFK is one of those films where such is the case. If they do put out a longer cut, I hope they use seamless branching so those of us who just want to see the original version can watch that instead.
