I do remember Civ3 lagging quite a bit on pcs unless they are pretty beefy... but with a game like that its all a matter of patience and how low you can put the graphics options without getting on your nerves... Personally I like Civ 3 better than Civ 2 but not as much as Civ1 or Colonization... Looking around though there is no demo floating around for Civ3... U should be able to pick it up pretty damn cheap in eb or somewhere like that used...
