Your points are valid, but still don't mean this discardable DVD format is a
bad idea. We should wait and see how it works out.

I don't quite get your point here. Would you expect BV to
experiment with this new format by releasing ALL of their movies this way, only then to find out if it will work out or not? Look at DVHS. DVHS isn't dead and the D-VHS selection is getting larger:
