And here's the dedicated HT. I based it on a theater I went to in my home town. It's in the old Master bedroom that is painted Garnet so everything is dark during a movie. The windows were covered to keep out ambient light. I also put foam rubber around the doors to stop vibrations and also keep out the light around the door. I hung fabric on the doors and walls also to cut down on the brightness of the sound in the room.
The equipment: Sony HTR speakers. Front L,R, Center and 8 surrounds. 4 on each side. The monitor sits on a 1 1/4 foot platform. Underneath is a Aiwa TSW-8 60w sub for the center channel. To the left of the platform is a Sony 60w sub that has the front L,R. An Velodyne VX 10 100w sub is on the right for the LFE. Behind the main seats is also a TSW-9 100w sub which drives the 8 surrounds. They are all on Monster THX certified cables. Every channel is full range.
I have a Infocus SP4805 projector with an 86" DIY screen.
The reciever is a Pioneer VSX-1015TX receiver. Pioneer DV-414.
