Yes, I too am disappointed in the Godfather set. Don't get me wrong, these are still some of my favorite films ever, but the DVD presentation of these films seems quite lacking. Firstly, I've got a Toshiba SD3109 player, so the fifth disc is virtually useless to me. I'm still trying to decide if it's worth the hassle to get the firmware updated or just get a new player. Apart from the disappointment over not being able to access the supplements, I'm also disappointed in the picture quality of the films. I was surprised at the number of specks throughout the films. I figured it would be a given that the print would have been touched up somewhat. I was surprised at the amount of grain visible throughout the films as well. I really expected part three, being not that old, to look a LOT better than it did. Another thing I noticed, in part three, when Michael and Kay are talking alone in a room in the villa in Sicily, every time there's a cut to a shot of Kay, the picture strobes slightly, from light to dark, almost as if being affected by Macrovision distortion.
As for the packaging...Dear Paramount, could you please make downloadable keep case inserts available for us? These cardboard things suck. Thanks tons, really.
