i just got that info from another website...it's saying you CAN use a universal remote that is capable of controlling AIWA equipment - but the remote MUST include a clock and sleep button (so, you can't use "el cheapo" uni remotes - you'll need something that can be very specific). That's all the help I can give you...

worst case, go to best buy and buy the Cyberhome 300S dvd player for $35 (yes, thirty-five), it plays EVERYTHING from any region and even has a PAL to NTSC converter in it...
