From what I understand it's LCOS. It's a kinda combination of LCD & DLP, but without their drawbacks. No DLP rainbows, and no LCD screendoor. It's a pretty amazing picture so far and I haven't even calibrated it yet. Deep blacks, bright as the morning sun, and incredible color.
DLP can be 3 chip too but it's mucho expensive.
