Also, if I were a professional players union, I'd be dead set against using ad space on jerseys due to the individual endorsement deals players have with various sponsers. Also, teamowners would most likely raise a fuss that it deminishes their team's own brand name when ads are placed on the uniforms.
I read once about an idea to computer generate ads on the game field much like they do now with the first down "lines." I'd be interested to see how that might work (not that I think it would lessen the amount of commercial breaks in any way).

I think they do it in Australian Rules football now. I like it. Honestly, I want to cut down on ads, it ruins the game, it means that the only way to enjoy the game is by going, but even then you have to deal with the ad breaks. They have their place sometime in baseball or football where you are switching sides breifly, but they shouldn't be to the degree that they are and it doesn't fit in with all sports.
