In Jan of 2005 i got a Pioneer VSX-D814K/S which i liked, but it didnt give me the features i wanted. True it had 6.1 sound (but i needed a center channel speaker to do it.) and component switching (until i get a TV with those type of inputs its kinda pointless). So I got this one.
Pioneer VSX-815-K
Not only does it have 7.1 sound ( i can get a pair of surround sound speakers cheaper than a rear center speaker and i already have stands to sit the new surrounds

) It has AUTO MCACC, which listens to the test tones the reciever puts out and adjusts the levels of the speakers to the acoustics of the room
And the best part was i got it for 279 on sale at my local electronics store, and i sold my old one for 240
