I honestly do not remember what kind of wood I used, but they were 1x8 boards. Just make sure that the boards are sturdy and straight so they won’t warp. Go to http://www.da-lite.com for a program that helps with measurements on how long to make the boards.

I took each board and wrapped it, almost like a present ,with thick black felt. The felt absorbs the light from the PJ, so you won’t have glare. I then used L-brackets and screws to brace the boards together. I then stretched the BO material across the boards and stapled it down. The screen is tight across, so there are no waves, wrinkles or lines.

To be honest, I was kinda flying blind with this and I’m sure there are much better instructions out there. I’ve seen some people who build a frame inside the frame for more support. In retrospect, I should have done something like this, but so far so good. Eventually I’d like to move up to a Grayhawk or something like that.

I'll try and dig up some better instructions for you that might make for a better screen.
