Point taken, but why does it matter if the image or legacy of a film is tarnished?

For me, it doesn't make a lick of difference. I'm still perfectly able to enjoy certain installments of a series while not bothering with the rest.

I'm not trying to sound condecending, but I just find it a little illogical to let poor sequels or prequels bother you.
