As a
major fan of
Superman: The Animated Series,
Brainiac Attacks is a crushing disappointment. Yeah, it's nice to hear Tim Daly as Supes again, but who's bright idea was it to re-cast so many key supporting roles? Powers Boothe is
AWFUL as Lex Luthor. Lance Henriksen is
AWFUL as Brainiac. Whoever is playing Mercy is
AWFUL (and why is she inexplicably
blonde in this?
). The dialogue is dreadful, undercutting the performances even of Daly and the Dana Delaney, who's usually dynamic in the role of Lois Lane but never gets out of first gear in this one. Really, this is the worst movie off-shoot of a
Superman/
Batman series yet (even
Mystery Of The Batwoman was better). It was nice to see Lois in that little black dress during the dinner scene, though.
