Boo-Yah!!! Are you a DJ? Are you "itchin for a scratch"?
I used to spin records, back in the day. Not a mixmaster or anything but used to make mix tapes for fun. I even DJ'd a few keggers.
My friend had 1200s and did something neat. He took some center discs used for 45s and taped them together in a stack. Then he would put the stack on a turntable and put a 12" single on top, upside down. He turned the needle over and would play the record. It was neat since one record would be elevated while the other wasn't.
Peace...

your friend makes me cringe! i'm a trainspotter before dj. check those pics again and you'll see entire label catalogues! actually, i have a set airing on digital nimbus on kuci (in california) tomorrow night if anyone cares to hear...
http://www.digitalnimbus.com for more info. i've played live a few times as well, but i'm not looking for any residencies. i like the idea of putting on a 'set' like any other musician, but i would hate playing just for the sake of playing... i'm pretty fortunate to work with some established artists, who've established some good links... some links that get my sets broadcasted!
the cost of the 1200s have almost cut in half. i considered the vestax PDX-2000 and numark TT-X at the time of purchase but glad i didn't bother. numark?! what the @#$#$@ was i thinkin??? the only 19" rackmount mixers (needed for the road...) i came across was that vestax i had (err, still have) and a Rane MP44. i borrowed an MP44, but there's no way i could have dropped for it at the time... fast forward a few years and i considered that Rane mixer again! ...eventually, i decided on an Allen & Heath XONE:62 -- a club standard. so, i got a XONE:92 -- bedroom overkill.
