Why show us the Stephen King book, I wonder what/if any significance that means
Henry Gale/Ben's remark "I guess this means I'm out of the book club" to me that means that they have been waiting for something like this or have done this before. Henry showed up last season at what 50 days after the crash? so maybe did it take him that long to get his story together or did he stumble on Henry Gale and figure he'd use that as an excuse.

I also wondered about the significance of the book.
I'm not sure what to make of Ben's comment. My first impression was something alone the lines of him expressing some kind of displeasure. Based on other scenes in the episode (i.e. the last scene), it seemed evident to me that there is some kind of rift between the too, and that may tie into your comment about her demeanor at the beginning of the episode.
At any rate, I loved the premier; I think. I'm still itching to know what happened in the hatch, so there is of course some disappointment in having to wait. And, although I can appreciate the lack of detail about what was going on, as we are essentially seeing events from the viewpoint of our 3 captured survivors, who also don't know what the hell is going on... I was still somewhat frustrated. I do believe I felt sincerely *lost* myself; almost claustrophobic in a way. There was a lot to like about the episode, and i can only hope that, what was "missing" will provide material to keep future episodes on par. I can wait, so long as they keep it interesting!
