Sometimes people say something that in their head sounds innocuous enough, but seems insulting to a customer. As in, "You're the customer that we're trying to satisfy" or "You're the customer that my manager was talking about who had a problem" but what he said came out wrong. That's just my take, though. I wouldn't file a complaint unless he was personally nasty to you.

nah i am way over it, i was just going to do it to be a d$ck to the guy but figured it wasn't going to be worth my time, since i'm moving from the area anway don't have to go to that store anymore
