CTV up here does it right and shows it earlier (though I watched it time-shifted at a later time last night), and I must say I enjoyed last night's episode. It wasn't anywhere near the best episode of Lost, but I really like Jack's character so more of him is good in my books. I actually felt that the kate/sawyer scenes felt a little tired, except for the very last one - I almost felt sorry for sawyer there.
I think the reason that the other tailies hadn't been seen before was due to the fact that jack/kate/sawyer were at the zoo station instead of at the others' subdivision on the main island, which it sounds like most of the others stay at most of the time, they all just came over to the zoo station for Juliet's verdict...
