Because they weren't telling stories that called for nudity. Duh. You might as well have said, "'Steamboat Willy' was a great cartoon, and it didn't have any nudity in it!"

That is not true. If any of those films were remade now they would have nudity and vulgarity all through them.
Those movies showed that despite the lack of nudity and cursing one could tell great stories. The trouble now is a lack of talent compared to filmakers in the 30s and 40s. It takes far more imagination to make a great film without nudity and cursing.

Don't even start on cartoons from the 20s through the late 50s. They blow away any animation that is in theaters or on TV now both in quality of backgrounds and animation and comic timing. They also did without the save the world environmental PC crap that infests cartoons now.
