One major selling point to me IS the ethernet connection. I wouldn't mind it if the player could hook into my network wirelessly as the Sony PS3 did, but eventually, they'll start releasing disks that will be able to access additional content online, I think it'd be wise to get a machine that will let you access the internet.
No internet connectivity=no sale!
There are other reasons to access the internet than to get firmware updates....
