That's the thing, you have to actually
see the rainbows for the effect to be an issue for you. My first exposure to DLP was Chromy's DWIN DLP front projector and while others in the room could readily see the rainbow effect, they had to point it out to me.
I'm not sure why rear-projection CRT was left out of the article.
