Timbre matching front and rear speakers?

Ok I know it is important to timbre match the front three speakers. So that means with my new set up I will have to go with a Klpch RC 10. Not my first choice but other options are out. So I am looking at these rear speakers from Klipsch http://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rs-42.aspx well these are $400 rear speakers and are wide dispersion and that means any concert I listen to or 5.1 music may sound screwed up or not quite as directional. So I was wondering if I found some direct radiating rear speakers that weren't Klipsch how off would they sound? Now I know sound is subjective to the listener. Like these Polks http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Polk-...oductDetail.do

So I want to here from those that have rear speakers that do not match the fronts. Why did you go that route? If I should buy the matching ones let me know why.
