I hit a snag with that setup. The X-Fi is outputing a digital signal, but Windows Media Player apparently isn't set up to output SPDIF. I looked through the settings and don't see anything.

I remember running into this problem when trying to get 5.1 out of DVDs. I had to use Power DVD to get it to work.
