I dunno, it's many factors in one I'm sure. I love stories in games, I don't really like the play, stop, play, stop nature of it, most people online are assholes and even if you play with friends you have to tolerate them, I barely have time to finish the SP portions of my games, let alone play all the MP stuff as well.
When my friends want to play something the fun of getting together outweighs all that, but online...
