Again, I don't think you (assuming you are a hardcore gamer) are their target so they don't care that you don't care. They are however kicking ass in sales and I believe they will continue to do so because the demographic they are targeting is much larger than that of the xbox and ps3.

Believe me, I appreciate the evolution of the graphics and game play, I've been playing since the days of pong. But even for myself as I get older I have less and less time for games. I just want something quick and fun that I can play for 15 minutes or half an hour. I don't have time to set up a profile and do career mode etc. Also, some of the control schemes are complicated and I forget when I go back to the game 2 months later so I can see how that may frustrate the casual gamer. I hate to use the bowling example again but if someone like my mom can pick up the Wii controller and make the basic bowling swing and hit the button to release the ball it's friggin' magic. Now if it was the exact same game with an xbox controller where you had to hit the button to get the power meter going and then somehow set up a spin on the ball and then hit the button when the power meter hit a line or something she would never play. With the Wii all of those things are intuitive.
