Well I've now watched several movies on it, and I have yet find a fault! Today I put it through the black level acid test, I watched Doom on HD-DVD. Now with a CRT projector, sure the blacks were black, but I also saw maybe 60% of the movie due to poor shadow detail. Well I can testify on the RS1, the blacks are indeed black, AND I can always tell whats happening on screen!! There was never a moment where the black level went gray, it was always nice and inky, and shadow detail was superb! Finally I can watch From Hell, and V For Vendetta safely(was holding off with the Sony)!
The only time you can tell your watching a digital, is when the screen goes totally black and stays that way for more than a second, even then it's still pretty damn dark.
I think I'm nick-naming the projector Blade, all the strenghts of CRT and digital, with none of their weaknesses!
