Sony Bravia XBR KDL-40XBR4 40" 1080p LCD HDTV

$2k, 3x hdmi, 120hz (can display 24fps native), HDMI 1.3, matte screen/no glare, great deinterlacing engine (though not as good as Reon's for SD DVD)
This is the flatpanel (easiest to move) version of my 60" LCOS RPTV. This flatpanel can be moved by one person and put in a car for transport. Everyone I know who has bought from this series has loved it.

Or, go to ebay.com and buy a 10% off Circuit City coupon and buy one of these off CircuitCity.com with the coupon for a similar price.

Remember if you need to you can return circuitcity.com to the store just like it was purchased in the store, although some of the ebay coupons can be used in store too. Not to mention that if you sign up for or use a Circuit City card to buy it, you get free financing for 6 mos or something like that. Best Buy has it for the same price, though its tougher to find 10% off coupons on eBay for best buy. If you got one though, obviously go for it there.

ALSO:
Has a game mode setting for least amount of input lag when gaming that can be set on your gaming inputs; a huge plus for games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band,DDR, etc. Tons of other settings too, you can basically ISF the set yourself without having to touch a service menu.

But what you will like most of all is that the User Interface is similar to PS3's

And re: the REGZA. My dad has one and it is an awesome deal for the price, but it can't match the Sony in video quality. It would then become a tradeoff, would you rather have bigger size (40 vs 46) or better quality?
