My HD-A1 HDMI connection Dead?

Well i was watching Harry Potter: OoTP yesturday on my system to see how my new speakers were doing for some key scenes. Today i thought i would see how they would do for Transformers. So i went to play my disc and i got in a box [No Signal Detected] and sure enough the same was on my receiver. I thought that it was my Onkyo that went or the cord had come loose from my brother fooling around with the game systems. Nope at was good and tight. Next i checked the menu on the receiver and all was set correctly. I tried the HDMI ports and both worked fine when i ran them with my PS3. So the last thing i thought was that the HDMI cable had gone bad (how i don't know but thought i would try) Sure enough the HDMI worked fine with my HD-DVR. So after all this i think my HD-A1 player is in need of repair or replacing (thankfully i have a service plan on the player taken out) So i'm thinking i will be HD-DVD playerless for a few weeks now or is there something i might of missed?
