i ordered an RX-V3800 last weekend -- hopefully it arrives tomorrow... i play quite a bit of music and that's the big difference for me. a friend of mine just picked up the Elite VSX-94TXH and it just doesn't sound the same. i guess in that price range, the only others with TrueHD/DTS-HD MA support are the Denon AVR-3808CI, Marantz SR7002 and SR8002 which i'll admit i just didn't listen to... the 3800 ($1,800CAD) is a step up from the 1800 ($1,300CAD) with a bit more power and network capabilities, and i believe a third zone... worth the money? umm... sure!
