Well it looks like I couldn't get out of this one that easy. Yeah I guess my setup falls into the "high end" category. I consider my Sunfire TGIII pre/pro high end, but the Denon AVP-A1HD that will soon be replacing it is really in the high end side of things. It could very well be the most technologically advanced pre/pro out there, which is why I'm getting one.

I guess the main reason I've gone the high end route with components and speakers is because to my ears it just sounds better. I've owned and used many different receivers, but once I went with separates there was no going back. What's cool about separates is that you can choose exactly what kind of amp you want to go with your pre/pro. How many watts you need, as many channels as you want, ability to bi-amp/ bi-wire your speakers etc.

I needed a lot of watts to drive my Martin Logans at 4 ohms, so my only option was quality separates. I now have more than enough with my Sunfire amp at 850 watts x 5 @ 4 ohms. And as long as it continues working I don't see the need to replace it.

The big Sony TV was a no brainer, as it offered the best PQ out of everything I saw at the time. And is still no slouch.

So yes It's high end, but there's a good reason for it
