Not entirely sure on the amps, I just sprung for a Toshiba XA2 on top of the RS1 and Xmas for the family, so thinking about other expensive toys actually gives my wallet a stroke.
I'm wondering about solid state vs tubes. The AMC 2030 tube amps are highly tempting, at about $500 each, only 30w per channel... but tube sound . However with solid state, for that amount or considerably less, you get alot more wattage.

Wow I'm only a month behind the times.

That's right you did say you had ordered one last month. My bad.
I can only imagine just how jaw dropping the images are from it. If I were to get a front projector it would definitely be a JVC.
Tubes, now that's one thing I have not used. I know that a lot of people who use them swear by them and the smooth sound they give. I have listened to systems with tube amplifiers and tubed CD players. The sound was amazing.
My Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature amplifier is all solid state but Bob Carver designed it in such a way that it offers a very close tube like warmth to its sound. I guess it's the closest I was able to get to tubes without actually using them.
I guess the only negatives with tubes is low watts per channel and the nessesity to replace them from time to time (which can be expensive depending on what brand you use).
