As I said, if you take the player and factor in its poor DVD playback and quirkier functionality, you will get a lower score. But, if you just want a BD player (which is what I was looking for), this is a good place to start. If you have HDMI, I would probably advise getting the PS3--that is if you don't mind the lack of PS2 support in the cheaper model or paying $150+ more than the Sharp for the full support model.
And Ruined mentioned the Panny above, but, again, that player does not decode the new audio formats. You have to have a next-gen receiver.
Bottom line: if you want a solid Blu-ray player that internally decodes all but DTS-MA for under $400, the Sharp is a good buy.
