It's actually much more of a sci-fi story... the first half of the game is more military and the second is more aliens, pretty much like Far Cry and the mutant things.
It's the best looking game ever made, and it's a very good FPS as well. People who were dissapointed thought it was going to be the second coming of Jesus (or the next Half Life) and it wasn't.
