I’m not sure if this is what you’re asking, but I believe the "third revelation" has something to do with Christ’s promise to return. I’d need to look it up to be more specific.
This was a good year for American epics, and like No Country for Old Men, I don’t think Blood could have ended in any other way. I know a lot of people felt somehow cheated by No Country and Blood in this regard, but Blood’s commencement and culmination in madness perfectly bookends its narrative. Several people in the theatre I saw it in nervously laughed out loud during the milkshake line and subsequent beating (which SNL has already parodied), so I think there may be some misunderstanding as to what Anderson was going for.
My favorite aspect of the film was the idea of the contrasting businessman (i.e., Eli’s religious racket and Daniel’s invented family man).
