Not sure why a person would spend $400 on a Blu-Ray player, but not spend $700-1000 for a HD set. It only makes sense to get the Blu-Ray player after getting the HDTV. Players and movies will get cheaper in the future, so why buy Blu-Ray now if you don't have the HDTV?

I would imagine some people bought the PS3 for gaming and might want to take the Blu Ray plunge but still only have a SD set. But I agree with getting a HDTV first and foremost before getting anything else.
