I don't think there is a set rule of thumb for depreciation. I think it has to do with the desirability of the unit in question. For instance, the XA2 is still commanding a rather high price. 9" CRT projectors are still in the high thousands of dollars. McIntosh gear almost always has a high resale value ( one reason I am considering investing
