I have to admit that I wasn't aware of this. Well now I need to get a 12 foot composite video cable, and once I do I will do some A/B comparisons between composite and S-Video. But after reading a lengthy article about composite vs. S-Video for LD playback, you are probably correct that composite is indeed the way to go.
