There’s really no way to guarantee that a player will last you for 4-5 years, but Philips and Sony (I’ve owned both) make pretty sturdy players. I’d actually recommend the Philips over the Sony as I’ve had a working Philips player for 3 years.

Does your new TV have HDMI?
