Kung Fu Panda

Did anyone else see this this weekend?

I thought it was fantastic! Finally someone other than Pixar is putting story driven animation out. This one didn't rely or even include any pop-culture references (which are usally out of date by the time the movie is released .. "Bake them cookies Ethel" from Meet the Robinsons anyone?). It felt modern in its language though.

The action was clear so it worked on a good kung fu movie level as well.

I wish they had given a little bit of time to distinctly show the fighting styles of the Furious Five however and I felt that was one of the nicest aspects of the film going in to it. The danger room scene towards the beginning didn't really showcase them properly.

The worst thing that Dreamworks could do now, which I'm sure they will, is look towards a sequel and maybe turning it into a television series. They should just chill out and enjoy a job well done and move on to the next time and raise the bar for themselves.

Highly recommended for kids and adults.
