I don't recall ever saying that different cables would transmit more or less of a 'bit' or that one would send more information than the other - where on Earth have I said that - the original question was what is the better of the two to use in a home cinema environment, because that is assumed to mean picture and sound quality. I have only ever stated that cables effect the quality of perceived sound - not the amount of information. As to the effects of jitter well, no clocking device within a DVD is infallible. I'd be interested to know if you have connected your DVD via a coathanger - if not, then what a pointless supposition. You may as well connect your system with a paperclip - that'll carry an electrical pulse too! Are both you and 1138 really suggesting that it makes no difference what you connect your home cinema with and that digital is indeed the 'perfect medium' with no loss or degradation in signal quality? Are Van den Hul, Chord, Linn, Dolby, THX, Naim, Nordost, Monster, Dts, George Lucas, Meridian, Lexicon and so on and on all wrong? Wow - thanks for enlightening me - I shall rush home straight away and solder my wardrobe to my DVD and enjoy the wonders of 5.1 anew!
