Home Theater Headphones for the Apartment
(posted this at AVS too in case anyone sees this as a double post)
I just moved into an apartment and set my sound system up. I keep it pretty low to begin with but I really don't want to bug anyone during later hours or so. I think i'm fine during the day but my only problem is that I am not usually home during those hours. I currently have an HD DVD player and an Onkyo HT-R540 receiver. I want a good pair of headphones that will do a pretty decent job while watching my HD DVDs. Since I live alone, I am usually the only one watching movies, unless I have friends over. Are there any suggestions for a good home theater (movie watching) type of headphones? I am almost sold on the Sennheiser HD-555. My receiver is very close to where I sit so the cord length isn't a big deal at all. I just want to make sure i'll get a "good" experience while listening to the headphones instead of the full 5.1 set up. I am hoping it will be close to the same (I know that is impossible) but since I have to keep the sound system down so low it kind of ruins having it. Any thoughts? Thanks! Sam |
