Crossover settings who decides?

Do you decide the crossover settings or do you let your receiver presets determine it for you?

The reason I am asking is I am looking at 2 different subs and one lets you decide the crossover setting and the other let's you set it with the receiver.

Just wondering and I am trying to liven up the conversation around here.
